Gradual Introductions To The Biblical Diet
In order for a person to be fully oriented to the diet that conforms to the biblical aspects, it is important for us to first get a clearer picture of it.
It may not be clear right away that our diet and health is a primary concern for God but it is. Some few reasons serve as why God is concerned about our diet. The reasons are; He loves us and wishes for our wellbeing, His communication to us is through our brain, He is our maker and regards us as His children and because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Bible verses such as; 1 John 4:19 “We love Him because He first loved us.” Show God’s love for us and how much He wishes for our wellbeing. Therefore through His love, He would want what is best for us in this case being our diet.
We need to eat well in order to have our brains functioning in the way that it should be. A clouded mind and clouded judgment hinders what God is trying to tell us which can be sometimes attributed to not eating well. Eating healthy in this context has its effects in that it helps the person to answer the call by God and understand better His word and scriptures. Unhealthy eating is often associated by many temptations and shortcomings which may attract the influence of the devil and deter the person from following what is right.
His concern for what we eat is also seen as He wants what is best for His creation as He is the maker and the creation are His children. His love for us as our maker and us is creation is evident in bible verses such as; “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18.
Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and thus should be taken care of in a proper way. Bringing glory to God should be the aim of us as human beings by using our bodies in a way that is just, good and right.
The diet that was prominent in the beginning was a plant diet and then allowance was made for vegetables as is the case in the garden of Eden. Later on, there was introduction of flesh food which was after the great flood. But this did not come without conditions.
